The Ferris Wheel: A Familiar Gathering Place Description My entry is a piece I designed, modeled, and textured for the virtual world There. The focus of There’s service is to provide a 3D space for people to meet and chat, with the emphasis on charming surroundings rather than complex photorealism. The Ferris Wheel displayed in the attached pictures and video is one component in an amusement park which uses familiar structures to promote a community atmosphere. It is worth noting that while visiting this ride, people formed a line just like they would in real life, and naturally began chatting with the people around them.
