TITLE OF ENTRY: Second Life Community In-World Convention

REPRESENTATIVE SCREENSHOTS: Attached. Descriptions at bottom.

DESCRIPTION OF PUBLIC SPACE: This build is the official in-world
location for Second Life's first ever Community Convention.
(www.slconvention.com). The main idea is that for people who cannot
afford, time or moneywise, to travel to New York for the convention,
they can meet in Second Life. Video will be streamed live in real time
from Second Life to NY Law School, and video streamed real time back
from the Law School to Second Life.

People will thus, for the first time anywhere, be able to virtually
attend a real life convention from a dynamic, interactive virtual
world! In addition, a recreation of the actual convention space - a
building in New York Law School - is the centerpiece of the entire
build!

The build also provides a great deal of space (see
SLCCsponsorBoothSpots) for sponsors to come together in one community
and showcase their business, group, philosophy ... whatever. In a
manner similar to Linden Lab's annual Burning Life festival,
(http://secondlife.blogs.com/nwn/2005/08/we_burn_early.html) residents
are given little restriction to what they can build, and ample space
to express their creativity!

With multiple entry points that encourage arrival by land, sea, and
air, the build is a collaborative effort by a host of talented
builders. SLCC boasts over 100 registrations for the real convention,
and participation of up to 160+ simultaneous visitors in SL, with a
host of events planned by Second Life's Spellbound group. This will be
open to the public, much advertisement has been done to attract many
residents, and is situated just south of Second Life's main "Welcome
Area".
