Midian Castle in Second Life Pictorial Representation: Midian Casatle Movie (Flash Attachment) OR HERE: http://www.ad-maven.com/sop/midian.swf LOCATION & Description of Midian Castle as a Public Space: Midian Castle is owned by Kala Vixen and located on Shadowy Ridge in the ESS, (21,174) sim of Second Life. An avid role playing fan who discovered Second Life round July 2005, Kala's goal was to establish a Horror/ Fantasy group that would allow all types of role playing characters to co-exist and role play together. Her land is located on an extremely steep hillside, which made it difficult for her previous builder to achieve her goals, a multi-leveled castle and dungeons. It needed to be designer to house a number of activity rooms for the role play group. A Ritual and Ceremonial Room, a Torture Dungeon, a Commoners Crypt Room, and a separate Crypt for the Vampire Elite. On top of that wish list was the need for vendor space for Midian designers of skins, clothing, story lines, and accessories sold exclusively to other Midian members, a working Library to store each member's character history and role playing activities, and guest quarters for member's who didn't have land to call their virtual home. All this was achieved by the strategic placement of multiple levels that allow for scripted secret passages to four levels below the castle main that appear to be located directly over one another, but in reality are staggered slightly to ensure that once the castle is in use and fully furnished lag would not be an issue. The architecture style choice was to make it reminiscent of the Medieval Period, without copying, varying the design to one of a more A-Symmetrical layout to give the feeling of the structure being built over time. Midian Castle is awaiting the purchase of a sim following the beginning of the new year, when building will be continued, creating multi-themed Horror/Fantasy areas for vendors and residents alike to enjoy. You can tour Midian Castle by going into SL and using the Main Map, Locating ESS on the Region drop down box and typing in Shadowy Ridge in location, then clicking on Teleport. To access all the hidden levels though, it might be prudent to contact either Kala Vixen or Theresa Johnson aka Tessa Harrington in SL, or you might just miss a few interesting levels. :) Theresa Johnson
